Outside of opening day, April 12th is the next day I am anxiously awaiting. Why April 12th? Because that is the day that the Minnesota Twins will again be playing baseball, not in a dome, but in a brand new open air stadium. It is a day I have dreamt of* since I was a young boy.

Royals Rotten Decade (2008)
During the 2000s, no major league team lost more games than the Kansas City Royals. It was a decade where the negatives far outweighed the positives. This is the ninth installment of the 11 part Royals Rotten Decade series. I will briefly examine each season in the last decade before wrapping up the decade in the 11th and final part.

Just a quick post to direct your attention to the PECOTA projections for 2010. The projections are already getting a lot of run from various sites because the New York Yankees are slated to finish 3rd in the AL East. Personally, I care more about the fact that the Kansas City Royals are projected to finish the 2010 season with the worst record (66-96) in all of baseball by a full 4 games. Where’s Dick Kaegel when we need him?
Last night MLB.com’s top 50 prospects were revealed on MLB Network and published on the website shortly thereafter. Following on the heels of the MLB.com list, ESPN’s Keith Law revealed his top 100* prospects on ESPN.com today. Each featured four Royals, but there was a significant amount of disagreement between the two lists.
