I agree with letting Olivo go, but I think the team will likely keep Buck as the primary catcher. His offensive numbers were very similar to Olivo's except for the aberrant HR total, and apparently the incumbent starters love throwing to Buck.

I would kick the tires on Navarro, but overall I'm not wowed by the guys mentioned in the post when Pena is already in the fold. I would like to see him get a ggod look with at least 200 at bats next year. His defense may never be great but he's cheap and his bat is intriguing.

You will not be disappointed with Diaz. He got bumped in Pittsburgh by Jason Jarimillo, and wasn't happy being sent to AAA. He would play with an attitude, a bit of a free swinger, but the guy isn't as bad behind the plate as the stats appeared. Pirate pitchers lack the ability to hold runners well and check out his AFL hitting line this year too.

I agree with you on Diaz. Cheap option that had some success at the plate. It would be nice to make a defnsive upgrade, but doing that costs money. I think the team should also take a look at Torrealba, but Diaz would be a nice move and he can be had on the cheap. Yopu might even be able to get him on a minor league contract with little commitment.
