Mike Moustakas and Johnny Giavotella

Yesterday, John Sickels posted 3 “random player comments from his 2010 Baseball Prospect Book. One of those three players was Kansas City Royals prospect Johnny Giavotella. As if one Royals prospect report wasn’t enough, this morning Baseball Beginnings published an updated scouting report on Mike Moustakas. Click here if you are up for it, but I warn you that Bob Hamelin’s name appears.
So based on these two reports, Giavotella is a below average defensive 2B with good strike zone judgement, and Moustakas is profiling as a 1B/DH type with the body of John Kruk. Not exactly the good news I was hoping for.
