I grew up as a fan of baseball in general. Obviously I followed the Twins, but my favorite team as a kid was the Chicago Cubs. My affiliation to the Cubbies was mainly because they were always on TV, especially in the afternoons when I would get home from school. Ryne Sandberg was also one of my favorite players which certainly helped.

I truly fell in love with the Royals when I went to Creighton University in Omaha. While I was in college, I might my wife who is from KC, and a huge baseball fan in her own right, and it all sealed the deal for me.

Once we graduated, moving to KC to start a family was a no brainer. I've now lived in KC for almost 10 years and absolutely love it. I only wish people would get their head out of their collective butts on the light rail issue. A downtown baseball stadium would have been nice too.

The Royals are my favorite team, the Twins are second, and then it is pretty much everyone else with the White Sox and Yankees bringing up the back of the pack.
