FA Open Season Approaches, My IRF Sleeps

Midnight is fast approaching and with it open season on the current class of free agents.  This can be an exciting time for fans of certain teams or for people obsessed with pretty much anything baseball.  I fall into the latter category so I am fired up to see who goes where and for how much.

While I will be brimming with excitement and enthusiasm for the opening of the next chapter in the baseball off-season, the Royals fan in me has locked the doors, turned off the lights, and fallen asleep.  Dude didn’t even set his alarm for midnight!  I could be seriously pissed at my Inner Royals Fan (IRF), but really, I can’t blame him.

In other news, Stephen Strasburg injured his knee and will not be able to make his scheduled start in the AFL Championship Game.  I’ve already got the DVR set and ready to go so I still plan on watching the game once the boys are in bed Saturday night, but this news is a bit of wet blanket.  I’m still excited to watch the game, just a little less so than I was earlier today.
