Look at our OF to end last season: DeJesus, Josh Anderson, and Mitch Maier. OF(RF) is certainly a position of need. The Royals have many.

A 4.73 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP isn't damn good, it's very average. Bannister's best season 2007, was an anomally as he benefited from an unsustainably lucky BABIP. He is at best an average MLB pitcher, and the Royals have a lot of pitchers in the minors who are more talented than Bannister. The Royals are headed for another cellar finish in 2010. But if they can pick up a power/speed guy like Brown who has the potential to be great in a few years, when the Royals might not be terrible, then I think you have to at least entertain the though of trading a MLB average pitcher and an underachieving 3b.

The Royals do not and will not have the pieces to contend in 2010. Their moves need to be looking beyond that point.

Are you honestly suggesting trading Alex Gordon and Brian Bannister for Dominic Brown?

So you're suggesting our left side of the infield to look like a sub 300 OBP Fields and a 300 OBP Betancourt?

Then the rotation will look like Meche Greinke...Kyle Davies's 5+ ERA? Luke Hochevars 6+ ERA?

Aaron Crow won't be ready until at least ASG, but probably later. He sure hasn't showed much in the AFL.

Not to mention, a right fielder isn't the biggest need of this club. They are easier to find then 3B and SPs, especially with the potential that Banny and Gordon have.

I would support a Gordon for Brown trade straight up, send Alberto to 3rd, and let Getz take over 2nd.

We can't afford to trade a starting pitching considering how weak it already is. And if you take a look at Bannys stats, he was damn good until his injuries.
