MLB Trade Rumors provided the following list of 2011 MLB Free Agents a while back.  This is a list of potential free agents after the 2010 season.  Since the 2010 Royals will be fortunate just to be competitive on a daily basis, it is safe to say that they will not be a legitimate contender until 2011 at the earliest.  With that in mind, this is the class of free agents the Royals should be keeping tabs on.  It also helps that Guillen’s albatross contract will be officially off the books at that time, unless our esteemed GM can pull off [...]

Royals Prospects Make a Few BA Top 20 Lists

On September 23rd, Baseball America started releasing its Top 20 Prospect Lists for each league in the minors.  Below you will find links to each list.  If you are a BA subscriber, you can click on the link at the beginning of each league’s write-up to read scouting report on each player in the top 20.  I also recommend checking out the chats that are done on the same day as the list for each league.  The Royals do not have teams in all of these leagues, obviously, but I think it is important to keep tabs on prospects in other [...]

KoK Offseason Proposal 1: Acquire Mat Gamel

This 3B prospect might be on the trading block if the Brewers can acquire some starting pitching for his services.  Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Wisconsin Journal Sentinel wrote about the possibility here.  On the surface it may not seem like a fit for the Royals, but it is something that Dayton Moore should pursue.

Yes I am still mired in project hell, and yes I miss writing on a daily basis.  Hopefully by this weekend I can get back to writing routine and substantive posts again.  I do realize that substantive is really a matter of personal perception and preference, but they are to me so I’m going to roll with the assumption that there are others of you out there that enjoy the posts you find here.  Anyway …

Twins and the Metrodome

The Tigers and Twins are set to hook up at the Metrodome on Tuesday afternoon to decide the AL Central.  I was born and raised in Minnesota, so while the Royals may be the team of my adulthood, the Twins were the team of my childhood.  I still have a place in the pantheon of my favorite teams for Minnesota.
