Things are Looking Up, Ho-Ram Designated
Greinke got shelled last night, the Royals have lost 8 straight games, and Tony Pena Jr keeps getting the starting nod at SS despite his lofty .053 average. So why am I a happy Royals fan today? The plague of the Royals pitching staff, LHP-Horacio Ramirez, has been designated for assignment to make room for Luke Hochevar. This doesn’t mean he is officially out of our hair, but at this point I will take what little good news I can get from this team. Ho-Ram can choose to accept the designation and go down to the minors or he can [...]
2008 Draft Class (Rounds 21-50)
A look into the performance and progression of the players selected by the Kansas City Royals in rounds 21-50 of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft. Wednesday News and Notes
Some news and notes from the last few days: On Sunday C-John Buck was placed on the 15-day DL with a lower back injury. To take his place on the roster the Royals called up C-Brayan Pena from Triple-A Omaha. I’m hoping Pena tears the cover off the ball so he sticks on the roster and Buck is the one sent packing when he’s ready to come off the DL. The Royals got Pena through waivers once already this season. I doubt it will happen again. Buck, on the other hand, will almost assuredly clear waivers if he’s put out [...]
